The Digital Capabilities Team has launched the Student Digital Skills Hub—a single place to discover tools, resources, and opportunities to help you build, assess, and grow your digital capabilities at Oxford.
Why a Hub?
Students told us they want clear, practical guidance in one place, with easy routes into the skills that matter most. The Hub delivers exactly that: concise guidance, hands‑on activities, recommended training and signposts to specialist support—curated for Oxford’s context.
The Digital Skills Tube Map
To make navigation simple, we’ve created the Digital Skills Tube Map: a flexible guide with six pathways based on the most common challenges students face. Each pathway is presented as a “line” with clear stops and connections, so you can:
Pick a line, follow the stops for quick wins, and switch routes whenever you need. The Tube Map is available both visually and in text form.
How to use the Tube Map
Choose a pathway that matches your current goal. Follow the steps, try practical tools, and switch lines whenever something new resonates.
Designed with Students, Backed by Research
The was co‑designed with Oxford students and the University’s UX Centre of Excellence, using real feedback to make content clear and easy to navigate. It also draws on research from the Centre for Teaching and Learning's student interns, which highlighted the need for a single, integrated space for digital skills and timely reminders throughout the academic year.
